Winter Wonderland 2004

DIRECTOR'S NOTES

Thursday, December 9, 2004
Thanks to everyone who showed up this week for your practices. We had a few absences (I hope you know your lines Saturday) but hopefully everyone will be at practice, ready to go, this coming Saturday. If you are not going to be at practice this Saturday, Dec. 11th, PLEASE let me know ASAP. This practice is crucial to bringing everything together this coming week.

Also don't forget we will be having breakfast at 9:30am in the Missionnette Building.

If you are reading this but you are not recieving emails from me, please send me an email at jjreese@houston.rr.com so I will have your email address.

Special thanks and unmeasurable gratitude to Joe and Kathy Barrera and Keith and Rhonda Shultz who are getting our sets and props together. Thanks for all the long hours you have already put in. I appreciate it more than you know.

With everything going on at this time of year, I would like to encourage you to make every effort to be at practices this coming week. I know it will be easy to get a better offer, but be strong, and faithful, and be at practice. I wouldn't beg if we didn't need you. Every single person is important or we wouldn't have asked you to participate. Someone depends on you being there in order to do their part. Don't let anyone down. OK enought preaching. That was my final closing.

See ya Saturday,

Jaci

By now everyone should have had at least one practice with your cast and director. I am hearing wonderful things from your directors. Most have their lines memorized or almost memorized. Thank you to all of you who have put in the time to be prepared for your rehearsals. It is very important to begin this week staging our skits so that we will begin to move around and get familiar with our movement as well as our lines.

This is going to be a crucial week and I encourage everyone to make every effort to be at your weekly practice, and of course, don't forget next Saturday's practice which will include our first full run-through.

Everyone make sure to thank Joe and Kathy Barrera who have agreed to be our master set designers. Alana Freidenburg (sorry about the spelling) will be doing much of the artistic painting as well. Thank you all for your help and enthusiasm.

Without letting the cat out of the bag, we have a couple of awesome additions to WW2004 in the works. I'll let you know about them soon, but for now, just know we're kicking the funny up a notch thanks to a few of our church "clowns". It's going to be a blast. So thanks in advance for agreeing to be crazy...you know who you are.

God bless all of you and thanks again for your participation. Don't forget to keep WW2004 and all those who will be touched by the program in your prayers.

Have an awesome week, and in case no one has told you yet...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Well the madness is beginning. Let me encourage you to take advantage of this website to keep informed of the most up-to-date information about practices and other important information that you may need to know about. This will save us a lot of phone calls and miscommunications.

Hopefully, with only a few exceptions, scripts are out and you are feverishly learning your lines. With our first practices only two weeks away, it is imperative that everyone come prepared to put things together. The best way to do that is for everyone to know their lines as well as possible so that we can begin staging and rehearsing productively.

Please be in prayer for Winter Wonderland this year. I truly feel that God has spoken to me that we are going to see many lives changed this holiday season. A mighty spirit of God is moving across America and never are people's hearts more open to recieve like at Christmas time. Many of you know that I have tried with all my ability to not really have a lot of children in Winter Wonderland in the past just simply because I don't have the patience to deal with them. (Thank you Lord for Lillian, Linda and Vonnie.) But this year, while in prayer, I believe that God spoke to me about using children to help draw their loved one's into the kingdom. So with that in mind, we have a lot of children's parts this year. Please pray that God uses them to soften the hearts of their loved ones.

I have also learned to delegate this year and handed off some of the responsibility to my awesome assistant directors, Rhonda Frankum, Janina Frankum and Kristin Pierce who will be helping me direct and coordinate practices. Thanks girls for the helping hands. You don't know how blessed I feel to have you on board this year. Also on our team this year is our Head Set Designer, Rhonda Shultz. She has assured me that she knows nothing about doing things on this scale, but I assured her I have full confidence in her abilities. She has an awesome imagination and ability to make her creative ideas a reality. Then back again this year by demand is my right-hand-man, Tyson Mallard. Tyson will as usual coordinate with the sound and audio visual people for me. He does an awesome job every year. I look forward to working with all of you.

Thanks to everyone who showed up Saturday. Due to many absentees, we really weren't able to get a lot accomplished, but we will get back on track. Our goal was to get everyone costumed but we will take care of that as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has committed to this ministry. I know that God will bless you for your efforts. See ya soon.
